Bet on the Pot
Las Vegas is known for being a very open and accepting city; a city that approves of more than the average. While the city is most known for its gambling laws, Nevada has also legalized the use of cannabis: both medically and recreationally.

Where Can I Buy It?
There are dispensaries open all over Las Vegas! Dispensaries are open to anybody over the age of 21 with a valid ID – or over the age of 18 with a medical marijuana card. Customers are welcome to walk in and purchase their favorite cannabis goods whether they are from within Nevada, or a tourist from out of state.

Where Can I Consume It?
Cannabis cannot be openly consumed in public – similar to drinking alcohol. It is a privilege reserved for private properties only. With that being said, the owner of the private property is the decision-maker on whether consuming cannabis is allowed on their property or not.

Even in the heart of Las Vegas, where all the drinking and gambling runs rampant, many places are still not allowed to offer  on-site cannabis consumption. Hotels, bars, restaurants, and casinos are all typically national companies that follow federal regulations – meaning they do not allow cannabis consumption, as it is not federally legal.

There are always exceptions, but it is very important to make clear on any local rules before choosing to light up. Failure to do so can lead to hefty penalties such as fines (up to $1,000) or jail time (up to six months), and community service.

That’s one gamble you never want to take in Vegas!
