First Recreational Dispensary Visit?
The New World of Recreational Cannabis
More states are voting to legalize adult-use cannabis. In Nevada, this voting has come and gone – leaving cannabis recreationally legal to any adult over the age of 21.
The experience of purchasing cannabis, legally, without even needing a medical card is an exciting and easy experience – an experience where many always remember their first time.
“Welcome to the Dispensary!”
If you’ve been to a medical dispensary, then this isn’t that drastically different of an experience from what you are used to. If you have never been in a legal cannabis establishment, then you are in for a unique experience!
When you first enter, there is a waiting room lobby and a front desk where you check in. All you need in order to check in is a valid photo ID that indicates you are at least 21 years old. Once you check in, you wait your turn to enter the “dispensing” room. The wonderful aroma of cannabis lofts through the doors to the dispensary as customers walk in and out of them, to tease you while you wait.
“How Can We Help You Today?”
Your experience in a medical or recreational dispensary is a one-on-one interaction – customer and dispensary technician (budtender). The budtender will help walk you through the various choices of products and strains until they reach the best recommendations for you. The difference with adult-use versus medical cannabis is that certain higher dose products are specifically reserved for medical only, on the grounds that those products are to fulfill a need, instead of a want.
Paying is just as difficult as ever – since the federal government still recognized cannabis as a controlled substance. Other than accepting cash, dispensaries will often offer the options of ATMs, or third-party payment platforms such as CanPay.
In Las Vegas, customers are allowed to purchase and possess up to one ounce (28 grams) of cannabis per day. That is the only restriction; there is no longer monthly allotments like medical cannabis programs enforce. When traveling the city, or state, with cannabis, there is no specific documentation needed – just proof that you’re of age to be possessing (21+).
Whether you’re a seasoned vet in the cannabis world, or a beginner, try your hand at our Vegas dispensary today – it’s an experience you’ll never regret! ( VIEW MENU )
